A key element of any study or investigation is comprehensive, yet efficient, data collection. Clear is able to manage a number of important data collection processes, through in-house surveys or using external contractors. Where possible, Clear carries out asset survey work using its own survey team and engineers, as the quality of models is significantly improved if the modeller has first hand experience of the system.

Clear can undertake the planning and management of catchment-wide data collection activities including the collation and assimilation of historic data into useable and spatial formats.

We have considerable experience in planning and organising sewer asset surveys such as manhole surveys, ancillary surveys, CCTV surveys, flow surveys and impermeable area surveys. Data collection activities can represent a considerable part of any model build or DAS budget. Clear works with its clients to deliver the best value data collection programme to avoid abortive and unproductive work.

In addition to using InfoWorks and InfoNet to manage and utilise hydraulic modelling data, we also use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) such as MapInfo, databases such as Access, and spreadsheets such as Excel to handle and manipulate various data sources.
