RPS Environmental Management Limited offer opportunities to attend a wide range of both internal and external training courses to encourage individual professional development where there is a demonstrable business benefit, this could range from achieving chartered status, taking part in RPS's PGCert in Urban Drainage or attending external industry conferences.
RPS’s Post Graduate Certificate in Managing Urban Drainage
Informally known as “the PG Cert”, this work based learning programme accredited with the University of Derby is a one year course aimed at graduate modellers within the company.
Accredited at Level 7 on the National Qualifications Framework, which will challenge participants to broaden their understanding of the principles of urban drainage and risk based catchment management, whilst developing their technical skills and implementing their learning in the workplace.
The content and outputs of the course have also been aligned to the CIWEM (Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) Mandatory Competences, with the final assessment replicating a formal Professional Review. Staff successfully completing the course will have developed sufficient knowledge and experience to achieve the MCIWEM qualification and will have taken a big step towards Chartered status with the institution (C.WEM).

To complement the technical training programme, RPS also offers it Management Development Programme. This programme of individual modules, delivered in house by our partners, North Nottinghamshire College is focused on developing the more ‘softer’ but still advantageous skills, essential for career development.

Health and Safety
While every effort is taken to prevent incident, the company recognises that its most Senior Managers cannot be everywhere.
Therefore a cornerstone of the way in which RPS works is trust - the organisations substantial investment in formal Health and Safety training for all staff contributes to RPS confidence in its staff health and safety knowledge greatly.
RPS invites all staff to complete their CIEH Level 2 qualification, and all Managers to complete their IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
In addition to these, there is comprehensive health and safety induction and ongoing Tool Box Talk schedule.
